Lecture (2 SWS, 3 ETCS)

Software Economics (Modul ISWÖK)

Which concepts, methods and terms from economics resp. business informatics should you know at least if you work in the field of software engineering? Some examples:

  • How do I determine the price of a created software? How does cloud pricing differ from on-premise pricing? How do you proceed with the estimation of costs for an individual software in comparison with off-the-shelf/standard software?
  • What do I have to think about when marketing software?
  • What are the components of a business plan for a software company that is about to be founded?
  • What types of cost accounting are there and how are they used?
  • How is the balance sheet or profit and loss account of a software manufacturer structured?
  • How can I plan the value retention of software over the period of use?

These and other topics will be presented theoretically in the course of the lecture and explained with practical examples.
