Knowledge Management and Decision-making in Software Engineering (Modul ISWKM)

During the software development process, all participants make decisions: users prioritize requirements, architects choose the best solution, project managers balance quality, quantity, cost and schedules against each other. Experience reduces the decisions´ uncertainty and learning from decisions´ consequences creates experience. Therefore, knowledge management is important.

This course enhances the management of the software engineering process using the perspective of the decisions to be made and the knowledge created and needed. Techniques for decision-making and knowledge management from software engineering, project management, artificial intelligence and economy are presented and applied in exercises.

The lecture and exercises are blended in one session. Participation in both is indispensable.
