Special lecture (2 SWS, 3 ETCS)

IT-Project Management  (Modul IPM)

The project manager organizes and monitors the work of the project team. Technical as well as human or contractual difficulties arise here. Many of these risks can be minimized by a systematic approach and awareness of pitfalls.
This lecture deepens and expands the knowledge learned in "Introduction to Software Engineering" (ISW) about processes and models, cost estimation, risk management, controlling, roles and communication as well as the interfaces to other tasks in the IT project.
Knowledge of the course of a project and its risks is not only important for future project managers, but also for everyone who will be involved with IT projects, for example as programmer or as customer.

The lecture and the exercises are closely intertwined. The successful participation in the exercises, completion of the homework and a written examination are all required for the credit points.
